Dr. Suresh Kumar Agarwal

Prof. Dr. S. K. Agarwal, the name synonymous to Alternative Medicine (http://www.altmedworld.net) in India holds the Golden Key to the wisdom propagated in the times prehistoric. As the promoter of Alternative Medicinal Practices Dr. S. K. Agarwal has paved a way towards world recognition and understanding of the Holistic Healing in an Alternative Method. An internationally renowned practitioner of alternative medicine, Dr. Agarwal is also an organizer, visionary, author and teacher.

Born in 1961, in Rajasthan he was destined to write the destiny of the Healing Practices, which has originated in the past but gradually lost its significance. A Graduate of Bioscience from Calcutta University, he did Diploma in Medicine and Surgery from Council of Homoeopathic Medicine, Govt. of West Bengal. He has completed Doctorate in Medicine in Homoeopathy from University Grants Commission Recognised University and Recognised by Central Council of Homoeopathy under Ministry of Health & Family Welfare , Govt. of India. After studying various fields of medicine and healing techniques, like Homoeopathy, Ayurveda, Yoga, Naturopathy etc he realised the need of incorporating them to provide wholesome goodness to the ones in need of medical assistance. Dr. Agarwal from the very initiation of his medical journey has focused on treating “the whole person” consisting of the physical aspect of the individual as is the practice with modern medicine. With establishment of Indian Board of Alternative Medicine in the year 1991, he pioneered the formal recognition of the Alternative Medical and Holistic Healing procedures. Medicine being his first interest and priority, Dr. Agarwal focused on it immensely and reached to the crest of success and Global Recognition of his efforts and initiatives.

With time various other interests developed. Along with this came the urge to know and incorporate more. The erudition and wisdoms of various subjects diversified the line of interest and quest for more knowledge started. Dr. Agarwal completed L.L.B. as First class 1^st and L.L.M. also in First Class. He did Masters in Gandhian Thoughts, Psychology, Astrology, Psychotherapy and Counselling, Botany, Environmental Science, Naturopathy and Yoga, Business Administration, Post Graduate Diploma in Holistic Health and Preventive Medicine. To add to his knowledge domain are several Ph.D.s, Doctorate of Sciences and D.Litt.

This long list of Academic and Professional qualifications are not just achievements but are the Gems of wisdom and insights with which Dr. Agarwal has empowered himself to foresee the future. From the basic interest of Holistic Health, which was covered with knowledge on Alternative Medicines and Psychology, he gradually diversified into the fields of Environmental Sciences and Sustainable Development. The significance of environment in present daily life is a well-known and vastly debated subject of the present world but the real implementation is not possible unless each individual understand its impact. Moving towards this realization the concept of sustainable development also triggered interest. The development that aims towards the future and secures the coming generation in terms of proper environment, nature, and healthy civilization became prior aim.

Sustainable Development is a myth unless the social issues are dealt with. The world is at war amongst itself, in name of faith and power. Dr. Agarwal showed a deep interest in attending to the needs of the world. The prospect of utilizing one’s own self for a greater cause, for the human society at large is the first religion for Medical Practitioners, Dr. Agarwal being committed to this religion of Humanity moved forward with a vision of a society which is at Peace, Tolerant and Harmonious. The Spiritual enlightenment and trust in the basic essence of life lead him to work for the betterment of the Global Society.
